The Reason:

9-1-1 Telecommunicators are often the last to receive training. Each day our profession evolves, and each day a there is a new threat to our responders. It is critical that 9-1-1 Telecommunicators have the opportunity for continuing education. Many agencies do not have the budget to send Telecommunicators to class. Training 9-1-1 Heroes provides quality online learning courses and activities for a nominal yearly fee.

Training 9-1-1 Heroes is not a contract training provider with TCOLE, and as such, is unable to report training hours to TCOLE. Agency training coordinators/administrators wishing to submit training from this site for TCOLE hours must properly vet the site to determine if it meets agency/TCOLE standards. TCOLE documentation (Bio, Lesson Plan, Test Key) are available upon request.

The Mission:

The mission of Training 9-1-1 Heroes is to ensure EVERY 9-1-1 Telecommunicator has an opportunity for ongoing education.

The Value:

Training 9-1-1 Heroes will provide a monthly continuing education course. These courses take approximately 1-2 hours to complete. The courses have power point slides, videos, discussion questions, knowledge checks, and a final examination. A course certificate will be provided upon completion of the course.

Additionally, each month a training activity and an employee recognition activity will be posted. The training activities are meant to reinforce basic Telecommunicator skills. Activities can be used for new and seasoned Telecommunicators. The employee recognition activities are resources that will allow PSAPs to develop and grow an in-house recognition program. The activities serve to encourage Telecommunicators to recognize each other for a job well-done.

Priced at only $20 per year, per Telecommunicator, the resources on this site are valuable and affordable to Telecommunicators at any size agency. Bulk pricing/invoicing is available for agencies interesting in providing training for their entire staff.
