When considering hazards for responders, a Telecommunicator is likely to think about weapons and intoxication. Unfortunately, there are dozens, if not hundreds of hidden hazards on calls. This course will discuss a few of the hazards recently in the news.
Sometimes it is impossible to keep responders safe, no matter how many questions are asked, no matter how many status checks are conducted. This course will discuss some less common hazards faced by responders, and ways to ensure responder safety, to the best of a Telecommunicator's ability.
I have over 22 years of experience as a 9-1-1 Telecommunicator/Trainer. I have experience in PSAPs large and small. I currently work part-time in a PSAP to retain my skills and industry knowledge.

I currently hold the following certifications NENA ENP, APCO RPL, Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Master Telecommunicator and Advanced Instructor, Texas Department of Public Safety TCIC/TLETS Instructor, and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Instructor.
