Course Goal

To discuss potential hidden hazards responders face when responding to a call.

When considering hazards for responders, a Telecommunicator is likely to think about weapons and intoxication. Unfortunately, there are dozens, if not hundreds of hidden hazards on calls. This course will discuss a few of the hazards recently in the news.

Introduction

Sometimes it is impossible to keep responders safe, no matter how many questions are asked, no matter how many status checks are conducted. This course will discuss some less common hazards faced by responders, and ways to ensure responder safety, to the best of a Telecommunicator's ability.
