Course Goal

To prepare Telecommunicators for calls related to animals and to recognize the hazards related to animal calls.

This course will discuss the calls regarding animals. The topics will include barking dogs, animal abuse and cruelty, exotic animals, loose animals, animal attacks, and diseases carried by animals.


Most animal-related calls are non-emergency calls. Repeated animal calls lead to complacency. Animal calls can lead to fatalities in certain circumstances. It is important to recognize the dangers related to animal calls.
